My name is Chris Davis. I’m a single father of two amazing teenagers, an active local volunteer, a community support chaplain, and a Disabled Navy Veteran.
As such, I’ve had the privilege to support Marysville students and their families in community organizing and advocacy.
I spend my free time working on projects with my kids, hanging out in nature, taking a class to learn new skills, or playing pinball and singing along to whatever music is playing.
I grew up following my dad’s Navy career as it took us around the world. Growing up in Italy and Guam, I was exposed to the breadth and beauty of diversity in the world at a fairly young age, but always with the filter of a military brat. No real memory of my home nation, just the idea that The United States of America is a place of freedom and justice for all, a beacon of hope and aid to the world… something worth sacrificing for.
Years later, after serving my own time in the Navy and settling down in one spot for the first time in my life, I started to notice the things that the Armed Forces Network didn’t tell me… hungry students, parents afraid to go to the doctor because the bill could bankrupt them, elderly folks priced out of life by inflation, and the elected officials that seemingly ignore the responsibility of leadership, never taking ownership or responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of the people they are supposed to be serving.
